Upgrade Guide (v3 to v5)

Robo Gallery version 5 introduces new gallery types, layouts, and design features — but upgrading from version 3 is simple and seamless. No manual migration is required.

🔄 What Happens After the Update?#

When you update the plugin from version 3 to version 5:

• All your existing galleries remain intact and fully functional.
• Your older galleries will continue to use the version 3 engine and settings.
• You’ll gain access to all new version 5 gallery types and themes.
• You can now create both v3 and v5 galleries side by side.

⚠️ There’s no need to reconfigure or recreate your old galleries.

🆕 Accessing v5 Features#

After updating, the gallery creation dialog includes both:

• Classic gallery types from version 3
• New layouts and presets introduced in version 5 (e.g., Fusion Grid, Horizontal Masonry, Justified Layout)

You can choose between them freely when creating new galleries.

🔁 Converting Old Galleries to v5#

You can convert any existing (v3) gallery to use the new v5 layout engine.

To do so:

1. Open an existing gallery.
2. In the settings panel, find the Change Gallery Type option.
3. Select any v5 layout (like Fusion Grid, Mosaic V5, etc.).
4. Save the gallery.

That’s it — your gallery is now powered by the new version 5 engine, with improved layout and styling options.

🔧 Why Convert?#

Upgrading to v5 layouts gives you access to:

• New responsive presets
• Better mobile performance
• New hover effects and lightbox enhancements
• Lazy load, filters, and more customization

🧠 Best Practice#

• Keep a backup of your site before making mass changes.
• Test converted galleries to ensure layout and styling match your expectations.
• You can always recreate the gallery from scratch if needed, but this is optional.
